Responsible for the maintenance of the automated in-house account creation and metadata updating system, current project leader for the implementation of the IBM Tivoli Identity Management system to supplement, then replace our in-home account creation system. Maintains and develops LDAP User Manager. Performs code reviews and assists the Applications Programmer II. Recently trained on SunGard Luminis Administration.
Daily duties include:
- Work closely with the Systems Administrators to provide accurate student and employee automated and manual account creations, deletions, and maintenance.
- E-mail troubleshooting using Cyrus, MailScanner, Postfix, and Exchange 2003 and 2007.
- Assist Systems Administrators with administration of Linux and Windows based servers running, Sympa, Sun Enterprise Directory, AD, Exchange 2010, IIS.
Other duties and accomplishments include
- Updated account creation system to increase meta-data accuracy and resolve performance issues. Currently testing a significant rewrite to part of the system that will provide further speed increases.
- Expanded the LDAP schema and updated LDAP User Manager to update a new LDAP attribute as a solution to changes needed by the recent SunGard BANNER upgrade.
- Scripting in BASH, PHP, Perl, OracleSQL, MySQL, and other languages as needed.
Systems Programmer - Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Fl. 2006 - Present
Performed account management, server maintenance, and policy enforcement. Performed code reviews and system configuration with the Systems Analyst. Worked with the Information Security Officer to ensure the security the primary web servers, including cleanup after intrusions. Account manager duties include creation and deletion of accounts, support of the automated in-house account creation and meta-data updating system, and customer interaction.
Daily duties include:
- Work closely with the Technical Support Center to provide account troubleshooting in regards to login, e-mail, shared drives, and account meta-data issues.
- Account creation, deletion, and maintenance.
- Sympa List Server maintenance and end-user support.

- Performed a partial rewrite of the account creation system to allow in-depth testing, error handling, and graceful termination during server downtime. Significantly increased the accuracy of account creations to reduce the number of manually created accounts during fall orientation.

Managed computer hardware and software for the Multimedia Teaching Classrooms while training and supervising student maintenance technicians. These classrooms included dual boot Windows and Linux systems with various engineering packages.
